Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido has said that he put his career on the line to support his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, in the Osun state governorship election.
Davido took an active part in the campaign of Adeleke who defeated the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
The singer made the comment via his Twitter page on Wednesday after the governor-elect received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Accompanying the post with an image of Ademola Adeleke, the singer said, “It’s been a long battle fought !! We put our Family name on the line , I put my career on the line ! But we had faith!! This was God testing us if we really believed in him !! I feel victorious! Congrats ! Your excellency @AAdeleke_01! As for me it’s back to the studio! ????????❤️????????”

Davido had called out the electoral umpire on Tuesday over the delay in issuing the certificate of return to Adeleke.
Adeleke’s PDP won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, while the APC won the remaining 13.
The PDP won in Ede North, Ede South, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Ila, Atakumosa West, Olorunda, Ilesa West, Obokun, Oriade, Orolu, Ife North, Irepodun, and Ejigbo LGAs.
The APC, on the other hand, won in Boripe, Ilesa East, Ayedire, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Ayedaade, Iwo, Olaoluwa, Isokan, Atakumosa East, Irewole, Ife South, and Ife East LGAs.
The election was held across 3,763 units in the 30 LGAs of the state and witnessed a huge voter turnout and was largely peaceful.
