The Senator wondered how the government had spent over N4 trillion to fight insecurity in the country and it is still being tormented by ‘terrorists on bike’.

Sani made the comment via his Twitter page on Wednesday.

Recall that suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Tuesday night attacked the Kuje prison which houses high-profile suspects.

Hours before the attack, the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari was also ambushed in Katsina with bandits and security forces exchanging bullets. Two officials on the President’s convoy were injured in the shootout.

Reacting to the security situation of the country, Sani said, “The Government spent over N4 trillion naira on defence in Seven years; including a Billion Dollar for Tucano jets and another close to a Billion Dollar on attack helicopters, And we are still living at the mercy of a roving gang of terrorists on motorcycles.”

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence Bashir Magashi has also disclosed that all Boko Haram suspects kept at the Kuje prison have escaped following the attack on the facility. About 600 inmates reportedly escaped after the incident.
