The NASD Over-the-Counter Securities Exchange ended August trading in the bullish territory as investors gained N2.4 billion on Wednesday.

The market capitalisation in turn rose by N2.4 billion to N1.007 trillion from N1.005 trillion and raised the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) improved by 1.83 basis points to end the day at 765.31 points in contrast to the previous day’s 763.49 points.

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by 40 Kobo to settle at N14.40 per share compared to N14.00 per share of the previous session, CitiTrust Holdings Plc recorded a 26 Kobo gain to end at N13.10 per share compared with Tuesday’s N12.84 per share, while Afriland Properties Plc grew by 10 Kobo to N1.20 per unit versus N1.10 per unit.

During the day, investors exchanged a total of 9.3 million units of securities, 27,267 per cent higher than the 34,119 units of securities transacted by market participants in the preceding session.

In the same pattern, there was a rise in the value of shares traded by 2,077.2 per cent to N122.9 million from the previous day’s N5.6 million, while the number of deals increased by 16.7 per cent to seven deals from six deals.

When the market closed for the day, AG Mortgage Bank Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, CSCS Plc stood in second place with 686.6 million units worth N14.2 billion, while Food Concepts Plc was in third place with 147.8 million units valued at N128.4 million.

Also, CSCS Plc was the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 686.6 million units exchanged for N14.2 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 24.5 million units valued at N6.6 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was in third place with 14.1 million units sold for N1.7 billion.
