The Central Bank of Nigeria has introduced redesigned N200, N500 and N1000 notes, OduNews reports.

Governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele at a news briefing ongoing at the CBN headquarters in Abuja, made the announcement.

Circulation of the new notes will begin on December 15, 2022.

The old notes will remain valid until January 31, 2023.

All holders of the old notes are to begin returning old notes immediately.

Meanwhile, bank charges for cash deposits have been suspended.
