A popular comedian, Adebowale Adedayo, also known as Mr Macaroni, has expressed concern about the level of insecurity in Lagos State under the current governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

When reacting to the death of a female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, shot dead by a policeman on Christmas Day in the Ajah area of Lagos state, Mr. Macaroni expressed his displeasure with the increase in insecurity in the state.

The skitmaker criticized the governor for failing to control oppression, brutality, and extrajudicial killings in the state.

He tweeted, “Dear Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu, the level of insecurity, oppression, brutality and extra-judicial killings since you became governor has worsened. You don’t control the police? Ok. But you are the chief security officer of the state. What are you doing about it sir?”

In response to the incident, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, tweeted that the officer responsible for the killing and others have been arrested.

According to him, it was a regrettable and avoidable incident. The ASP who shot and two others with him have been taken into custody, and they will be transferred to the SCID for further investigation.

The Lagos State Police Command extends condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Barrister Bolanle Raheem.

The Lagos State Command Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has been in touch with the family and the Nigerian Bar Association since yesterday and assured them that justice would prevail.

As Macaroni responded to the statement from the state PRO, he responded, “If it was a civilian that the police accused of a crime, even before proven guilty, you will give us their names, even snap pictures or make videos after beating them up. Keep protecting yours.”

He added, “I pray that all our oppressors will one day be held accountable for their crimes against humanity.”
