He announced that his administration is determined to complete the long-overdue rehabilitation of the Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta expressway within the next 18 months.

He highlighted the poor condition of certain portions of the road in Ogun and expressed his disappointment over it.

Governor Abiodun also stated that his administration is in the process of finalizing a new agreement with the Federal government in the next few months in regards to the project.

announced this while officially opening the Itori Township Road and lock-up shops as part of his tour to the Ewekoro Local Government Area on Tuesday evening.

He also visited Papalanto and Obada towns in the area during the tour.

He said that by the grace of God, within the next 18 months, the road will be renovated, as he has done everything humanly possible.

However, he pointed out that the road is a federal road and the federal government has not allowed the state to touch it, but the administration has been negotiating with them and putting money on the table to partner with them to fix the road as it is causing suffering for the people living in the area.

He assured that an agreement will be reached with the federal government in the next few months to bring relief to the people.

Additionally, the governor stated that his administration will also construct affordable housing units in the local government area, and the inauguration of the Itori Township Road was fulfilling a campaign promise made in 2019.

Abiodun said: “We are coming to build here in this local government affordable housing units, this is a very strategic local government and we should have affordable housing units here, this is an industrial local government”.

He urged residents of the town to go all out and collect their permanent voter’s cards which are now available at various wards across the state.

The governor, who noted that governance shouldn’t be about sentiments, stressed that voting the right set of people into office is extremely important for a better Ogun State and the country as a whole.

Addressing party faithful and people at a campaign rally in Papalanto, Abiodun, promised that the old Ilaro road passing through the town would be reconstructed soon, while more blocks of classrooms and renovation of the old structure would be carried out in Papalanto High School.
