Tragedy struck at the popular Balogun market in Lagos as fire engulfed a three-storey building housing warehouse on Thursday.
OduNews learnt that the fire began razing in the wee hours of Thursday which destroyed properties and goods worth millions of naira.
The South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said that the building housed warehouses and firefighters encountered some challenges gaining access to the building because of the iron bars.
He, however, said the fire has been brought under total control without spreading to other buildings.
Also, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a statement, said though the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained, no casualty was involved in the incident.
LASEMA chief, Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said the response team including the Lagos State Fire Service trucks and the police are present at the incident working together to subdue the inferno.
This fire incident is coming three months after a fire broke out at the same Balogun market with several goods worth millions lost.
