According to information gathered by OduNews.com, one of the two main suspects arrested for the New Year’s Day murders of the ex-worker of the Central Bank of Nigeria, his wife, and their son, has evaded capture.

A man named Felix, who reportedly shared a house with the Fatinoye family, had reportedly alerted authorities after realizing that the couple’s driver, named Lekan, was allegedly involved in the murders.

It was reported that Felix had yelled at Lekan, the late wife’s driver, when he was brought to the riverside where Oreoluwa was drowned.

According to our correspondent, Lekan was swiftly apprehended and taken into custody.

The police had two suspects in custody until one of them escaped on Friday, according to a police source who spoke with our correspondent.

Lekan mysteriously escaped from custody, according to the source, who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Nonetheless, it was learned that police had begun searching for Lekan and other suspects linked to the incident.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police public relations officer, declined to comment when reached by phone.

Oyeyemi did not want to address the question of whether one of the suspects had escaped from their custody.

It was also discovered that police officers had been sent to search all the hidden crevices in the area for the fugitive.

In the meantime, the picture of Lekan with the message asking for help finding him went viral.

A copy of the message, which purportedly came from law enforcement, was spotted by our correspondent.

In a message titled “Wanted,” the police described a man they believed was involved in the New Year’s Eve murders of a married couple in Abeokuta.

Lekan is his name. He is at large and on the police’s most wanted list. If you see him or know where he might be, call the police immediately. Please be generous with your information.

After attending a crossover service at Christ Anglican Church, Iporo-Ake, Abeokuta, the couple was attacked and killed at their home in Ibara GRA in the early hours of January 1.

They were unrecognizable after being burned to death.

Their son’s body was discovered three days after being thrown into the Adigbe River in Obada-Oko.
