The Jimmy Carter Foundation has announced that former US President Jimmy Carter will no longer undergo medical treatment and will instead receive hospice care at his home in Georgia.
The decision was made to allow the 98-year-old Carter to spend his remaining days with his family. While the foundation did not disclose what prompted the decision, Carter has been experiencing health problems, including melanoma that spread to his brain and liver.
Carter served as president from 1977 to 1981 and faced several foreign policy challenges during his tenure.
After leaving office, he remained active in humanitarian work and received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his human rights advocacy.
