The Supreme court has sacked the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba, Emmanuel Bwacha, OduNews reports.
Delivering judgment on Wednesday, a five-member panel led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun affirmed the verdict of the federal high court which held that the APC did not conduct any valid governorship primary in the state.
On September 20, a federal high court in Jalingo, Taraba state, sacked Bwacha as the APC’s governorship candidate. The Appeal Court however set aside the High Court’s verdict.
David Sabo Kente, one of the aspirants, had filed the suit against Bwacha’s candidature.
Kente had told the court that no governorship primary election was held in Taraba. Justice Simon Amobeda subsequently nullified Bwacha’s election and ordered a fresh primary within 14 days.
