Prominent Lagos figure, Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya, issued a warning to Igbos who choose not to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming governorship election, advising them to remain at home.
In a viral video shared on Twitter, MC Oluomo spoke in pidgin English, addressing APC supporters.
In his words;
“We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home. Sit down at home”.(sic)

Akinsanya, who leads the Lagos motorparks management committee, is known for his affiliation with the militant wing of the APC in Lagos. His statement may deter potential voters from exercising their right to vote.
As the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections approach, APC operatives have employed various strategies to ensure a successful outcome, following their surprising loss to the Labour Party in the state’s February 25 presidential election.
In the presidential race, Labour’s Peter Obi secured 582,454 votes, defeating former Lagos governor and APC candidate Bola Tinubu, who garnered 572,606 votes. After results from all 36 states were collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu was declared the winner.
Nonetheless, Obi’s unexpected triumph in Lagos State has positioned Labour Party candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as a significant contender against APC’s Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the forthcoming governorship election.
