President Muhammadu Buhari visited Maiduguri on Thursday to unveil a power plant project among others, OduNews reports.
The 50-megawatt power plant and other viable projects were executed by the Borno state government.
The inauguration was part of his one-day official visit to the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Buhari was received on arrival by Governor Babagana Zulum, members of the state and National Assembly, and some top government officials.
Other dignitaries present were the Theatre Commander, North-East Operation Hadin, Major General Ibrahim Ali; heads of security agencies, community and religious leaders.
Buhari is expected to inaugurate the new 50 megawatts Maiduguri Gas Power plant constructed by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited.
He will also inaugurate the cancer centre located at the University of Maiduguri and the newly constructed Tashan Bama Motor Park, consisting of 475 shops and an administrative complex.
Before proceeding to the Maiduguri Monday Market which was gutted by fire recently, he will also unveil the Ahmadu Bello Way, Shehu Sanda Kyari, Lafiya and Mogoram roads.
Buhari would be conducted round the scene by the General Manager of the market, Mustapha Loskorima.
