The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, says he is now learning how to speak the Yoruba language fluently.
A cross-section of Nigerians extraction have criticised the Mr Gbadebo for not being able to speak Yoruba, the local language of the southwestern region which the state he intends to govern is part.
Addressing the lingering criticism in an interview on Arise TV, the LP governorship candidate said he is learning how to speak the language fluently.
He disclosed that he has hired a Yoruba teacher because he was interested in learning the deep history of Yoruba language.
The LP candidate stressed that speaking the language will endear him more to the people he intends to govern.
