The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the complete list of members-elect of the 10th Senate. This list follows the National Assembly elections that were held on February 25, 2023, alongside the presidential election, which brought in a new set of members to the Hallowed Chambers. The new and returning lawmakers will make up the Red and Green chambers of the legislative arm of the Nigerian government.
Although there are familiar faces returning to the Senate, eight names were missing from the list released by INEC. The commission stated that supplementary elections would be held in the affected senatorial districts before the members-elect can be officially announced.
The senatorial districts affected by the supplementary elections include Enugu East, Kebbi North, Plateau Central, Sokoto East, Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Yobe South, and Zamfara Central. It is important to note that the commission has yet to announce a date for these supplementary elections.
