Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, has renamed the First Technical University in Ibadan after his predecessor, the late Abiola Ajimobi.
The institution is now known as Senator Abiola Ajimobi First Technical University.
The governor disclosed this during the 2nd Convocation Ceremony 0f the institution, which was held at the university’s Tech-U Library Hall.
Makinde noted that his decision to rename the varsity after the deceased ex-governor is to honour the contributions of the former governor to the establishment of the Technical University of Oyo State.
The Technical University, Ibadan was established in 2017 by the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi while serving as the state governor.
