In a tragic turn of events, Hon. Isma’ila Yushua Maihanchi, the recently-elected House of Representatives member for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has passed away.
Maihanchi succumbed to a short illness early Saturday morning at a hospital in Abuja, the exact location of which has not been disclosed.
A close aide to the late representative confirmed the news of his untimely passing and announced that Maihanchi will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
The burial ceremony will take place later today at the national cemetery in Abuja. Further details about the funeral arrangements and the circumstances surrounding his illness are expected to be released in due course.
