Renowned Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, better known as Mr. P, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing divorce saga involving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Achraf Hakimi and his wife, Hiba Abouk. On Friday, reports emerged that the World Cup semi-finalist had left Abouk, who subsequently demanded over half of Hakimi’s possessions during the divorce proceedings.
However, it was later revealed that the Moroccan footballer had registered all his assets, including property, clothes, cars, and jewelry, under his mother’s name. In response to this news, Mr. P took to Twitter to question why many men were celebrating Hakimi’s actions.
The singer advised against marrying someone if there is a lack of trust, emphasizing that a wife should not be made to suffer after a divorce. He also reminded his followers that their own mothers were once someone’s wife.
In a series of tweets, Mr. P wrote, “I don’t understand why most men are rejoicing over this Hakimi story? Like I don’t get it. The truth is bitter but needs to be told. If you don’t trust her, then don’t marry as simple as that. Or are you expecting your wife to suffer after a divorce? Remember! The one you trusted with all your property in the name of Mother was once your father’s wife. #HakimiDivorce.”
He added, “The mother you are clamoring about was/is also somebody’s wife at some point before she became his mother. What if she was treated the same way? Please Marry your Mother! EOS.”
Mr. P also challenged those who support Hakimi’s actions, suggesting that they may not feel the same way if they were in a similar situation with their in-laws.
