In Tuesday’s highly anticipated match, Bayern Munich’s full-back Joao Cancelo is set to return to Manchester for the first time since his January loan move from Manchester City.

The 28-year-old Portuguese defender found himself out of favor at the club, leading to his relocation to Germany for the remainder of the season. Bayern Munich has the option to make his move permanent with a 70-million-euro (£61.4 million) signing in the summer.

Bayern’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, expressed his satisfaction with having Cancelo on his team. However, he confirmed that no discussions have taken place yet regarding the possibility of making Cancelo’s move permanent.

As Cancelo prepares to face his parent club, Tuchel offered his perspective on the situation, saying, “I hope he can manage his emotions and he is not over-motivated and over-excited.”

Tuchel also expressed his hope that Cancelo wouldn’t be too shy during the match. He added, “It is not enough to know it. A lot of people know smoking is bad for you but they still do it,” emphasizing the importance of balancing emotions and maintaining focus during the game.
