The Nigerian Police Force has dismissed officers, attached to Kano singer Dauda Adamu Rarara, for misconduct, OduNews reports.
In a viral video, two of the policemen attached to him were seen shooting in the air indiscriminately while the singer was heading towards his parked SUV after distributing Ramadan packages in his Kahutu hometown in Katsina.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesman of the force, announced the decision to dismiss the officers involved at Force Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
He said the officers were dismissed for wasting live ammunition.
The escorts were recently captured firing live bullets into the air as the singer made his way into his vehicle.
Their action had sparked outrage and the force vowed to take action.
