Eleven communities in Osun State, Nigeria, are currently experiencing power outages due to technical issues, including one caused by a vehicular accident.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) revealed this information in a social media update on Monday.
The affected communities include Eleweeran, Ayepe, Moro, Edunabon, Ipetumodu, Yakoyo, Asipa, Akinlalu, Sekona, Odeomu, and their surrounding areas. The power outage is attributed to a technical fault on the Ile-Ife TCN Sekona 33KV feeder. IBEDC assured its customers that their technical team is working closely with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to resolve the issue and restore power as soon as possible.
In addition to the aforementioned communities, customers in Efon Alaye are also experiencing a power outage. This disruption was caused by a vehicular accident that affected the Efon/Osu 33KV feeder. The technical team is working diligently to restore power supply to the affected area.
IBEDC has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused by these power outages and is committed to addressing the technical issues promptly to minimize disruption to its customers’ daily lives.
