Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti, has been pictured in handcuffs at the Lagos state police command following his arrest on Monday.
OduNews had reported that the afrobeat crooner was captured in a viral video assaulting a police operative on duty.
Reacting via his Instastory on Saturday, Kuti said the officer attempted to kill him and his family members.
He said the policeman has apologized and he has forgiven him.
He warned those saying he was chasing clout to mind their business and not let the police officer lose his job.
Kuti wrote, “He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout. He has apologised and I have agreed not to press charges.
“Make una mind una business make the poor guy no lose him job,” [sic].
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has said he will provide legal services to Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, who sought his intervention following the singer’s alleged assault on a police officer.
Falana has also disclosed that the embattled singer would turn himself in on Monday.
