Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has issued an immediate suspension directive for all permanent secretaries in the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This development was unveiled on Thursday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Katie Oko.
The statement also disclosed the suspension of the Head of Service in a strategic move related to the newly inaugurated Judicial Panel of Inquiry. The panel has been set up to investigate and recover assets and funds that rightfully belong to the Abia State Government.
In light of these changes, Governor Otti has endorsed Lady Joy Maduka, currently serving as the Director in the Ministry of Education, to assume the role of Acting Head of Service (HOS).
Further, the statement ordered John Pedro Iroakazi, the Clerk of the House, and Mrs. U.G. Uche Ikonne, the Solicitor General, to transfer their duties to the most senior Director within their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
These decisive measures underline Governor Otti’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the administration of Abia State.
