Governor Ademola Adeleke

Former spokesperson of the Senate, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has denied allegations that he refused to vacate a seat reserved for Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Eid praying ground in Osogbo, Osun state. In an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, Basiru stated that he did not see any seat specifically earmarked for Governor Adeleke during the event.

Basiru emphasized that there were no designated chairs in the mosque and that he occupied his own seat. He further mentioned that a man named Olawale Rasheed approached him and informed him about a government official named Muniru Raji, who came with thugs attempting to remove Basiru from his seat.

Earlier in the day, reports emerged of a clash between Basiru and an aide of Governor Adeleke at the Osogbo Eid praying ground regarding seating arrangements.

The conflicting accounts highlight the ongoing controversy surrounding the incident and the differing perspectives of those involved. As investigations continue, further information is expected to shed light on the sequence of events and the motivations behind the altercation.
