Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has secured a spot in the latest world’s most valuable starting eleven (3-5-2), according to Transfermarkt. Joining Haaland on the list are players like Kylian Mbappe, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden, among others. The combined market value of the starting eleven amounts to an impressive €1.25 billion.

Haaland, who had an exceptional debut season with Manchester City in the Premier League, won three trophies including the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League. He concluded the 2022-23 campaign with an impressive tally of 52 goals in all competitions. Haaland is also a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or award, although he faces tough competition. Regardless, his outstanding performances make it likely that he will win the prestigious accolade in the future, if not this year.

Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is another player tipped to win multiple Ballon d’Or awards in the future. Despite an early exit from the Champions League, Mbappe’s contribution to PSG’s success in winning the Ligue 1 title cannot be overlooked. He scored 41 goals and provided 10 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2022-23 season.

Phil Foden, the 23-year-old Manchester City midfielder, showcased his talent throughout the season with 15 goals and eight assists in 48 appearances. Although he didn’t start as frequently as expected, Foden’s importance to the team was acknowledged by manager Pep Guardiola. Despite not starting for England in recent international matches, Foden’s talent and work ethic ensure he remains a valuable player for both club and country.

One player gaining significant attention in the football market is Josko Gvardiol. Manchester City is reportedly intensifying efforts to sign the 21-year-old defender after he expressed his desire to leave RB Leipzig. Leipzig has set an asking price of £86 million for Gvardiol, with former club Dinamo Zagreb expected to benefit from a sell-on clause of approximately 20 percent.
