In a major reshuffling move, the Nigerian Navy has reassigned top senior officers, including 56 Rear Admirals and a Commodore.
On Thursday, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, the Information Director, issued a statement detailing the new assignments of the impacted officers.
Among those affected include Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole, previously serving as the Director of Logistics, Defence Space Administration. He now takes up the mantle of Chief of Communications and Information Technology at the Naval Headquarters. Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel, formerly Director of Combat Policy and Tactics, now fills the role of Director of Logistics, Defence Headquarters.
Other significant changes include Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu transitioning from the Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at Naval Headquarters to the Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation at Defence Headquarters. Likewise, Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete moves from being the Director of Project Monitoring at Defence Headquarters to become the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters.
New roles have also been assigned to Rear Admirals Livingstone Izu and Musa Madugu, taking up posts as Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters and Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot, respectively.
The statement also confirmed that Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew will serve as the Director of Training, Defence Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad has been reinstated as the Chief of Training and Operations. In addition, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem retains his position as Director of Human Rights Desks at the Defence Headquarters.
A few more shifts include Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima transitioning to the Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans from his previous role as Flag Officer, Commanding Central Naval Command, while Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere takes up the mantle of Chief of Defence Administration at Defence Headquarters. Lastly, Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje has been named as the Group Managing Director, Navy Holdings Limited, amongst others.
