The senator initially issued a “travel advisory” in May, where he expressed that Florida openly exhibits hostility toward socialists, communists, and their supporters. In his latest statement, Scott urged individuals who identify as socialists, communists, or proponents of big government to reconsider their plans of vacationing or relocating to Florida.
Scott emphasized Florida’s identity as the “free state” and asserted that the state does not align with socialist principles. He stated, “We’re the free state of Florida. We actually don’t believe in socialism.”
