Actress Yvonne Nelson has stood by her claim that rapper Sarkodie forced her to terminate their baby, stating that he drove her to the hospital for the procedure. She criticized the music star for his latest diss track, stating that while it may earn him accolades, it cannot erase the truth.
Nelson questioned Sarkodie for dismissing the pain she experienced with his diss track, where he accused her of being desperate to terminate the pregnancy due to her studies. She challenged the online community to investigate her claims and expressed disappointment in Sarkodie for “rubbishing” her pain.
In a series of tweets, Nelson accused the rapper of spouting lies in his diss track but urged him to employ creativity and logic. She emphasized that insults would not change the truth.
She wrote: “Insults won’t work, Michael. Respect womanhood. I’m happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get the applause for a rap still doesn’t change the TRUTH.”
Nelson went on to address Sarkodie’s claim that she was desperate to abort the pregnancy in order to complete her studies. She clarified that she had already completed university before becoming pregnant in 2010. She challenged him to find a logical lie if he wanted to continue spreading false information.
The actress also mentioned that they both have daughters and expressed curiosity about what life would throw at them. She shared details about her pregnancy and graduation, highlighting that she was pregnant at the time of launching her glaucoma foundation and had completed her coursework before her pregnancy.
Sarkodie released a diss track titled “Try Me” on Wednesday morning in response to Nelson’s claims. In the song, he countered her statements and accused her of being selective with the details shared in her memoir. He also referred to her as a woman of easy virtue and challenged her to name all the men she had slept with.
