According to sports media outlet 90min, both Liverpool and Manchester City have expressed interest in the player, but Chelsea have been firm in their position that Colwill will not be leaving the club this summer. The 20-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Brighton, where he impressed with his performances.

Following his stint at Brighton, Colwill is set to hold talks with Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino after returning from the Under-21 European Championship, where he is currently representing England. The young defender is considered a valuable member of the Chelsea squad.

It’s been reported that Liverpool have made two enquiries for Colwill, with the most recent occurring in the past few weeks. However, both enquiries were rejected by Chelsea. Brighton also expressed interest in signing the defender, who made 22 appearances for the team last season.

Colwill’s contract with Chelsea extends until 2025, and it includes an extension option for an additional year once he reaches a certain number of appearances for the club. The club has already sold central defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer and seems reluctant to lose another player in the same position.

Colwill is currently still representing England at the European Championships, with the team set to play Portugal in their quarter-final match on Sunday.
