Keke Palmer’s boyfriend, Darius Daulton Jackson, has sparked controversy after criticizing Palmer’s outfit during a recent concert by Usher. In a video that went viral on Twitter, Palmer can be seen wearing a sheer black dress and bodysuit while embracing Usher as he sang “There Goes My Baby.” She even joined him in singing.

However, Jackson tweeted in response, “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” which promptly led to widespread criticism on Twitter. Users called out Jackson’s double standards, pointing to old tweets of his and commenting on how he could have privately messaged Palmer rather than criticizing her publicly.

Undeterred by Jackson’s comment, Palmer shared more photos of her outfit and expressed her enjoyment of the Usher concert. Usher himself responded in the comments, thanking her for attending.

Jackson, seemingly unfazed by the public criticism, reiterated his point, implying that he did not approve of Palmer showcasing her body for public approval. “This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case,” he tweeted.

His response again drew criticism, with one user advising him to be aware of his lane, stating, “She’s not ‘showcasing booty cheeks’ so much as she is an icon sharing the stage with an R&B living legend.” Others pointed out Palmer’s higher financial status.

Following the intense backlash, Jackson deleted his Twitter account, and as noted by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram, both he and Palmer have seemingly unfollowed each other on the platform.

Usher humorously addressed the situation with his first post on Meta’s new social media platform Threads, where he asked, “Am I trending yet?”
