The Nigerian Senate on Thursday began screening the newly appointed service chiefs.
President Bola Tinubu had in a letter to the Senate read on Monday, requested that the Upper Chamber confirm the nomination of the Service Chiefs.
Chief of Defense Staff, Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, was the first to address the plenary, saying the Armed Forces is working tirelessly to safeguard the country.
Gen Musa added that the Armed Forces under his watch will continue to serve Nigerians dutifully. He asks the Senate to confirm his appointment
He adds that insecurity has distorted the development plan of Nigeria and therefore demands new skills that are proactive, adaptive and inclusive and this is what he will be bringing on board as Chief of Army Staff.
