In a continued effort to secure the release of abducted students from the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State, the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji has successfully rescued seven more female students.
The operation follows the recent attack on the university’s hostels in Sabon Gida, Bungudu Local Government Area of the state, which resulted in the abduction of over 20 students.
This development marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to bring back the abducted students safely. According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication that focuses on the Lake Chad region, three male workers of Gupran Engineering Zervices Ltd have also rescued alongside the female students.
The troops had earlier rescued six female students the same Friday they were kidnapped. In total, the Joint Task Force has now rescued 13 students, including the seven freed today, offering a glimmer of hope for the families and the university community who have been living in anguish since the attack.

Felicia Sunday: Computer Science, 200 Level, Osun
Jamila Ahmad: Biochemistry (BCH), 200 Level, Kogi
Aisha Aminu Ujong: Education – Physics, Graduated, Cross River
Mariya Abdulrahman Usman: English, 400 Level, Katsina
Usaina Abdulrahman: Education – English, 100 Level, Katsina
Saadatu Aminu Abubakar: Education – Biology
