The Lagos State Police Command had intensified efforts to locate and apprehend Primeboy, even offering a substantial reward of N1 million to anyone who could provide information leading to his arrest.

However, a surprising twist occurred on Thursday when Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, issued a statement confirming that Primeboy had voluntarily surrendered himself to the authorities and was subsequently taken into custody for interrogation and further investigative procedures.

“Following his declaration as a wanted person, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, aka Primeboy, has turned himself in. He has immediately been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions,” Hundeyin stated.

“The Lagos State Police Command once again assures the family, friends, fans of Mohbad, and the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring a most diligent investigation. The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, will definitely be brought to justice.”

The untimely demise of Mohbad on September 12, followed by his burial the next day, had stirred controversy and speculations on social media. There were rumors circulating that Mohbad and Primeboy had a rift prior to his passing, although the singer’s close friend vehemently denied such allegations.

The tragic incident has led to nationwide protests, with thousands of Nigerians demanding justice for Mohbad. In response to the public outcry, the Lagos police established a 13-member special investigation team on September 18 to delve into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

In a related development, on Wednesday, October 4th, a Magistrate Court in Lagos State ordered the remand of renowned musician Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and prominent Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, to police custody for 21 days. Both individuals are also prime suspects in the tragic death of the late singer Mohbad.
