The violent episode, which unfolded last week, also saw the destruction of ten residences and twelve storefronts, with eight vehicles being set ablaze.

Represented by Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Secretary to the State Government, Governor Radda extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and reiterated his dedication to eradicating banditry and criminality within the state’s borders.

His resolve to purge the state of “undesirable elements” was firmly stated, underscoring a commitment to ensure peace and security.

According to a communication from Abdullahi Yar’adua, the Press Director at the Secretary to the State Government’s Office, the visit included interactions with local inhabitants and a member of the vigilante force, who chose to remain anonymous. This vigilante detailed the heroic, albeit futile, attempts by villagers to fend off the better-equipped bandits, stating that the villagers managed to eliminate seven of the assailants before being forced to withdraw.

The current whereabouts and condition of those abducted remain uncertain, as no communication has been established with the kidnappers. A comprehensive list of those affected and the extent of property damage was presented to the government official, who vowed to convey these details to Governor Radda.

While the villagers expressed gratitude towards the Governor’s anti-terrorism efforts, they also appealed for an increased security presence in their area and for the reconstruction of the main road connecting their village to Daudawa, highlighting the need for improved accessibility and safety.
