Nigeria’s Super Eagles have experienced a significant drop in the latest monthly ranking from the Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA), released on Thursday.
The three-time African champions have fallen from 30th to 38th place.
This follows a previous decline, where the Super Eagles dropped two places in the last FIFA ranking.
The team’s position has been affected by their disappointing performance in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In their recent matches, the West Africans managed a 1-1 draw at home against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Benin Republic’s Cheetahs.
Despite these setbacks, the Super Eagles remain among the top five teams in Africa.
Morocco holds the highest rank on the continent, followed by Senegal in second place. Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire are in third and fourth positions, respectively.
