A heated argument erupted between Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and Australian journalist Peter Ludlow during an interview about the conflict in Ukraine. The exchange grew tense as the two clashed over Western support for Ukraine and Russia’s involvement in the crisis.
The argument started with Ludlow questioning the large financial and military aid the United States is sending to Ukraine. Carlson defended America’s involvement, saying it was necessary to weaken Russia. When Ludlow pushed for more diplomacy instead of confrontation, Carlson accused him of repeating Kremlin propaganda.
During the interview, Carlson called Ludlow “Putin’s useful idiot” for criticizing Western aid to Ukraine. Ludlow quickly responded, saying the label was “insulting” and Carlson’s comments were “absurd.”
Clearly annoyed by the questions, Carlson used the controversial term to describe those he believes unintentionally spread an enemy’s message. However, Ludlow strongly objected to being called that on international TV. He argued that resorting to insults meant Carlson had lost control of the interview.
