The UK economy experienced no growth in April, according to preliminary data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
This follows a 0.4 percent growth in March.
Economists, as surveyed by Reuters, had predicted this stagnation, citing adverse weather conditions as a key factor. The wet weather significantly affected retail sales and construction output.
The ONS report, released ahead of the upcoming election, noted that rainfall in April was 155 percent above the long-term average.
More details will follow.
