Pastor Adeboye Warns Ministers: "Run from Sexual Temptation or Face Ruin!"
Pastor E.A Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has expressed ongoing vigilance against sexual immorality, despite his extensive ministry experience and spiritual “anointing.”

In a sermon delivered at the recent RCCG Americas 1 Ministers & Workers Conference, which includes North, Central, and Caribbean regions, Adeboye emphasized that no level of anointing could protect ministers from sexual temptation. The event’s theme was “The Glory Ahead.”

Adeboye shared his personal commitment to avoiding temptation, noting that he runs “faster than before” to steer clear of any sexual enticement. He cautioned fellow ministers to remain wary, citing the biblical example of Samson, who succumbed to immorality despite his anointing.

“Somebody says, at your age, why are you still running? I run faster than before because the closer you get to the finishing point, the more careful you must be,” Adeboye explained. “With all your anointing? Does anointing turn your body to stone? Samson was anointed. Single-handedly, he killed a thousand soldiers. A woman finished him.”

He warned ministers to recognize the dangers posed by seemingly innocent interactions, advising, “You see that woman smiling at you everywhere you go, she is there smiling, and she is not your wife, run.”

Adeboye also addressed the youth, urging them to be cautious of lust and avoid situations that might lead to sin. He provided practical advice for both young men and women to flee from flirtatious advances to avoid falling into temptation.

“You may laugh but mark my words,” he told his congregation. “When you see a girl smiling at you in a funny way, run because you can’t win the battle.”
