Rick Ross made his allegiance clear in the ongoing Kendrick Lamar-Drake feud, and it resulted in some unexpected consequences while he was in Canada this past weekend.

During his set at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday (June 30), Ross played Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us” as his closing number. A video captured Ross leaving the stage as the song continued to play. It wasn’t long before he was confronted by a group upset with his song choice, given that it was in Drake’s home country. The confrontation escalated when one man punched Ross in the face, sparking a brawl between the group and Ross’ entourage.

The fight lasted several minutes, resulting in one of Ross’ associates being knocked unconscious and needing assistance to leave the scene.

The tension between Drake and Ross isn’t new. Drake previously targeted Ross in his track “Push Ups,” and Ross fired back in his song “Champagne Moments,” hinting that Drake had undergone cosmetic surgery.

Following these musical jabs, the two reportedly exchanged messages privately. Ross then advised Drake to steer clear of responding to Lamar’s “Euphoria,” stating, “I know we not friends, but let me give you this advice because you ain’t got nobody around you, you ain’t got no real ns around you. Let me put it like that: ain’t no real ns. Stop. Don’t respond. Don’t respond. You ain’t even peep when the intro came on with that Teddy Pendergrass, that was that Black vibe. Don’t do it. Don’t go write an 8-minute verse.”

Ross’ outspoken support for Lamar in this high-profile feud clearly stirred strong emotions among Drake’s Canadian fans, culminating in the dramatic and violent encounter at the festival.
