Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday held a private meeting with former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Minna. The meeting, which took place at Babangida’s Uphill residence, lasted for about one hour.
Also in attendance at the meeting was former National Security Adviser, General Aliyu Gusau.
Though the visit was not anticipated, sources reveal that President Obasanjo arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Airport in Minna around 4:30 pm aboard a Gulfstream 5 aircraft. He reportedly came from Benin City, Edo State, and departed in the same aircraft around 7 pm.
The purpose and details of the meeting remain unclear, as no journalist was aware of the gathering until after Obasanjo had left Minna. The unexpected visit has sparked curiosity, but so far, no official statement has been made regarding the discussions that took place.
