President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) during a ceremony held at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa on Monday. This follows the Senate’s confirmation of her nomination last week.
Justice Kekere-Ekun, now the 23rd CJN, is only the second woman in the nation’s history to occupy this prestigious role. She had been serving in an acting capacity since August, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired earlier this year.
