Elon Musk has donated approximately $75 million over the last three months to America Pac, a group that has become instrumental in Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Filings submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Tuesday revealed Musk contributed $15 million in July, followed by $30 million in both August and September. Musk remains the sole donor to the political action committee.
America Pac has quietly taken on a central role in Trump’s campaign, focusing on voter turnout across key battleground states. The group has deployed about 400 canvassers per state, significantly outpacing the Trump campaign’s own efforts, as well as other conservative groups. It aims to make three rounds of contact with target voters before the November election.
If Trump’s victory is linked to America Pac’s ground efforts, Musk’s influence could grow within a potential second Trump administration. Trump has already floated the idea of including Musk in his cabinet should he return to the White House.
The FEC filings show that America Pac has allocated around $30 million, or 40% of its total funding, to Trump’s voter outreach operations. The remaining funds have been directed to down-ballot candidates and digital and mail advertisements for Trump.
Musk’s involvement in Trump’s campaign has deepened in recent months. He announced plans to visit Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground state, to give speeches in the lead-up to the election. Musk, who previously identified with Democratic policies, endorsed Trump in July and appeared at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month.
Musk’s shift toward conservative politics has been in the works for some time. Reports indicate that Musk has been quietly funding right-wing causes for years, including spending over $50 million in 2022 on anti-immigrant and anti-transgender advertisements through Citizens for Sanity, a group linked to Trump adviser Stephen Miller.
He has also contributed to Building America’s Future, a group that aims to reduce support for Vice President Kamala Harris among Black voters and has targeted the Biden-Harris administration’s policies, particularly on immigration.
In addition to Musk’s contributions, casino magnate Miriam Adelson donated $95 million to another pro-Trump Super Pac, Preserve America Pac, according to separate FEC filings released on Tuesday.
