Popular reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, known widely as Tacha, kicked off her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours with an emotional tribute to her late mother.
The challenge, which is taking place at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos, began on Friday as part of her three-day Tacha Beauty Festival, running from October 10 to 12.
Before starting the challenge, Tacha was seen kneeling in front of a large poster that read, “Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.” She appeared to be praying in honour of her mum, a moment that moved many at the event.
Speaking on the goal of the challenge, Tacha revealed that she aims to complete 150 full makeovers in 24 hours, showcasing not just personal endurance but also highlighting the strength and creativity of Nigeria’s beauty industry.
The temporary makeup studio set up for the record attempt is fully equipped, and as of the time of this report, the challenge was already underway with massive support from fans and fellow celebrities.
Among those spotted at the venue were Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Liquorose, Soma Anyama, and Hilda Baci, who came to cheer Tacha on as she pushed towards making history.
Tacha rose to fame during the 2019 Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem season and has since become a household name in entertainment and business circles. This attempt is another major step in her journey of influence and impact.
The makeover challenge is expected to run through the night and wrap up on Sunday. Once completed, the results will be submitted to Guinness World Records for official verification.
