JAMB releases fresh UTME results as total passes 1.9 million

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board released another batch of UTME 2026 results on Wednesday, pushing the cumulative total of published scores to 1,897,692 candidates. The examination body continues its staggered approach to releasing results following the completion of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

This latest batch represents JAMB's ongoing effort to process and release results to the nearly two million candidates who sat for the examination across the country. The board had earlier announced a phased release schedule to manage the volume of results and ensure accuracy in score processing.

Candidates who have not yet received their results can access them through the official JAMB portal using their registration numbers and passwords. The board has repeatedly advised candidates to disregard fake result websites and only check their scores on legitimate JAMB platforms.

The examination, which took place across multiple centres nationwide, recorded an impressive turnout of candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions. JAMB's decision to release results in batches has allowed the board to verify scores and address any technical issues that may arise during the processing stage.

Candidates are expected to use their results to apply to their preferred tertiary institutions through the Post-UTME screening process. The board has set timelines for both the publication of remaining results and the commencement of the Post-UTME exercise in participating universities and polytechnics.

JAMB spokesperson clarified that the board would continue releasing results in tranches until all candidates' scores are published. The organisation has urged parents and candidates to exercise patience as the remaining results are processed and made available on the portal.
