Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m team misses World Relays direct qualification

Nigeria's mixed 4×400 metres relay team finished third at the World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas, clocking a season's best but falling short of direct qualification to the World Championships.

Jamaica won the race while Poland took second place. The Nigerian quartet ran well enough to set a new season's best time, yet the result meant they will not advance automatically to the world championships and must go through another qualifying process.

The mixed 4x400m event requires two men and two women from each country to run in relay format. It has become a regular feature at major athletics competitions, and Nigeria has built a reputation for competitive performances in the discipline.

This third-place finish at the World Relays represents a solid effort but ultimately falls just short of what the team needed. The athletes will have other opportunities to secure their spots at the world championships through additional qualifying meets.
