Police find two bodies in Ondo bush, residents gripped by fear

The Ondo State Police Command is investigating the discovery of two bodies found in a bush in Akotogbo, Irele Local Government Area, sending a wave of alarm through the community.

The bodies were discovered in circumstances that remain unclear, though the police have begun preliminary investigations into the deaths. Residents of Akotogbo say they are now on edge, uncertain about what happened to the two people or whether the incident poses an ongoing threat to their safety.

Officers from the state command visited the scene and began gathering evidence and interviewing residents who may have information about the discovery. The police have not yet released details about the identity of the deceased, how long the bodies had been in the bush, or the suspected cause of death.

Akotogbo, a settlement in Irele LGA in the Ondo hinterland, has seen its share of security challenges in recent years. The discovery of the bodies comes at a time when residents have expressed growing concern about safety in rural areas of the state, where police presence is often limited.

The Ondo State Police Command is expected to release a statement once investigations progress and facts surrounding the deaths become clearer. Residents are awaiting updates from authorities and say they hope the police will move quickly to establish what happened and whether any criminal activity was involved.
