Soldiers from 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison killed two suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during an ambush in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State on May 27.
The operation happened at about 4:00 p.m. near Kasaicia village, off the Damaturu–Buni Yadi road, after troops received intelligence about terrorist movement in the area. The soldiers worked alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters to set up the ambush.
According to a Special Situation Report from Headquarters Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI, the troops engaged the terrorists and killed two of them during the exchange. The soldiers recovered two AK-47 rifles and empty magazines from the scene.
The military said troops remained in high spirits and their fighting efficiency stayed strong despite the fluid security situation in the area. The operation is part of Operation Desert Sanity V, the ongoing military campaign against insurgent groups in the Northeast.
