The All Progressives Congress has suspended Hon. Ibrahim Usman, a serving federal lawmaker representing Hadejia, Kafin Hausa and Auyo, along with six party officials in Jigawa State over alleged anti-party conduct. The suspension came through a letter signed by state APC Chairman Ahmad Garba MK after the State Executive Committee received complaints from party members about activities during an event on May 26, 2026, in Auyo.
The other suspended members are Aisha Adamu Auyo, State Deputy Women Leader; Yargabi Babannan Auyo, Auyo Ward Women Leader; Musa Idris Zabarau, Auyo Ward Chairman; Ibrahim Ayama, Auyo Local Government Vice Chairman; Saje Hadiyau; and Sani Abdullahi Hadiyau, Local Government Financial Secretary. The party said the individuals engaged in conduct capable of bringing the APC into disrepute, undermining its authority, and promoting division among members.
The APC alleged that the accused persons violated Articles 21.2(ii), (vi), (vii), and (viii) of the party constitution, which prohibit disloyalty, anti-party activities, conduct likely to embarrass the party, and actions causing discord among members. Those suspended face immediate restrictions: they cannot represent themselves as party officers or agents, attend or participate in party meetings and functions in any official capacity, or exercise powers attached to their offices.
Chairman Garba said the suspended members would receive a fair hearing before the APC Jigawa State Disciplinary Committee. "They will be afforded a fair hearing and an opportunity to defend themselves in accordance with the party's constitution and the principles of natural justice," the statement read. The party has not set a date for the disciplinary hearing.
