The All Progressives Congress has faulted the Independent National and Electoral Commission (INEC) for declaring Diri Duoye as Governor elect of the state.
Odunews.com reports that the electoral commission earlier declared the Peoples Democratic Candidate winner of the Bayelsa election and presented him a certificate of return.
The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole however insists that the commission ‘illegally’ declared Diri as governor elect of the state.
He accused INEC of appropriating judicial powers to itself over the Supreme Court ruling that sacked Chief David Lyon as Gov-elect.
He said the party will seek legal redress and go to the court to reclaim its mandate.
The verdict has since spurred varying reactions among party faithfuls of the PDP and APC in the state.
Odunews.com earlier reported that the Party Secretariat of the PDP in Bayelsa was set ablaze by protesters.
