As the coronavirus panic continues to spread, Disney World has acquired more hand sanitizers in response to the closure of Asian Theme parks.
Screen Rant reports that Walt Disney World, Florida’s most popular tourist destination, is introducing more hand sanitizers a week after all of Disney’s theme parks in Asia were closed due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Park, and Tokyo Disney have closed to help check the spread of the virus, according to their websites.
As attention has turned to the most popular Disney park in the world, the Florida attraction says it will remain open for now, but with more safety precautions.
Most of the reported cases of coronavirus are in Asia (this includes more than 80,000 cases in China), and as yesterday, March 3, 2020, there were 3 confirmed cases in Florida.
Apart from the potential effect the global pandemic will have on the global box office for upcoming Disney movies, the company has canceled its March media event for the European release of its streaming platform as coronavirus threatens to shake Disney’s revenue in the tourism industry.
Apart from adding more hand sanitizers, Disney’s Florida parks and resorts are also educating its employees on preventive hygiene practices such as handwashing and keeping their work stations sanitized.
The Tampa Bay has also reported that Disney directed employees who recently traveled to Italy to stay home. This is because Italy has the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases west of Asia.
