Presidential Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that $150m should be added to the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee disbursement.
The funds would be withdrawn from the account of the National Sovereign Investment Authority.
Zainab Ahmed, the minister of finance, budget and national planning, told journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
Ahmed said the withdrawal would be made from the NSIA stabilisation fund to augment disbursements by the federation accounts allocation committee to the three tiers of government.
